The club will be hosting The Danny Gamble Squash Open 2022 open tournament from the 28th of April to the 1st of May 2022. The event is the longest-running tournament at the club and has been running since May 2005 to commemorate club member, Danny Gamble, who sadly died of Cancer in 2004. This year’s event will be a combined Singles, Doubles, and Mixed doubles event with the Singles event also registered as a PSA Satellite event which will feature a number of up and coming pro players as well as a mixture of club players. It is one of the few tournaments left that gives club players a unique opportunity to get on court with a pro player, in the singles event. A singles plate event will also be running for all qualifying round and first-round losers to give everyone the opportunity of more squash throughout the weekend 🙂
The doubles event will be run all day on Saturday and the semi-finals and finals will be held on Sunday. The mixed doubles event will be a one-day event held on Sunday only along with the semis and finals of the singles, plate singles, and doubles events.

The playing schedule for this year’s event will be:
Thursday 28th April 2022 (6:40pm – 10:00pm) – Qualifying Round Singles Matches
Friday 29th April 2022 (5:00pm – 10:00pm) – Qualifying Round and First Round Singles
Saturday 30th April 2022 (9:00am – 7:30pm) – Singles Round Two & Quarter Finals, Plate Singles Round One, Two & Quarter Finals, Doubles Group Stage Matches.
Sunday 1st May 2022 (10am to 5pm) – Singles & Plate Singles Semi Finals and Finals, Doubles Semi Finals & Finals, Mixed Doubles
The club will be doing hot food throughout the weekend and will also be serving it’s annual buffet on the Sunday during the finals around 3pm, which is free to all players and spectators. There will also be the Danny Gamble Open Raffle, which has been run every year and there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs! Tickets are £1 for a strip of 5 tickets and can be purchased from behind the bar at the club and throughout the weekend as well so please speak so someone behind the bar to get your tickets 🙂
There are tournament t-shirts available for sale for those who are unable to take part in the event but would still like to support the event. T-Shirts are £12 each and come in sizes Xs, S, M, L, XL, and XXL. They can be ordered from behind the bar or by completing the webform below.
All T-shirts are 100% Polyester performance material and are Jet Black in colour with Red and Silver print.
